Children’s Riding

Children from the age of 7 and teenagers are very much in evidence at BTSC in the afternoons and at weekends. Our regular young riders participate in one or more lessons per week, and establish lasting friendships with their fellow riders. In addition to BTSC’s private, semi-private and group lessons, children may take part in the following activities, many of which are open to non-members:

‘Own a Pony’ Programme

Owning a pony is many a child’s dream and during holiday season members can sign up to own a pony for a few days. During this period all lessons will be conducted on the same pony and your child will be responsible for all aspects of the pony’s care from grooming, watering, hand walking, putting the pony in the paddock, grazing, etc.  This is an excellent way to create a bond with a pony and appreciate the commitment required to own a horse.

Pony Camps

Over holiday periods, BTSC keeps youngsters busy with a variety of flexible Pony Camps. There are camps to suit all levels of riding, and all entail a large component of fun! There are young rider camps, jumping camps, camps to improve gymkhana skills, and more.  Daily lessons or hacking are included, and participants groom, tack up, shower their ponies, and learn stable management. All camps are conducted under the careful supervision of our BTSC instructors.
