Stabling and Livery
Bukit Timah Saddle Club offers full livery service as standard for all livery horses. The stable dimensions are approximately 3 metres x 4 metres designed for maximum natural air flow. The full livery service includes:
- Stable with light and fan
- Shavings – morning muck out, afternoon skip out, bedding down.
- Feed – 6.00am, 10.30am, 6.00pm
- Water – changed twice daily
- Designated syce (groom) for each horse, under the supervision of our stable manager
- Daily grooming
- Post exercise shower
- Once daily walk -in-hand, or turn out
- Use of all facilities as described in ‘About Us’ – ‘Facilities’
Please note: hay is delivered weekly by our suppliers. Owners select their preferred variety (Timothy, Alfalfa, Bermuda, Orchard, Meadow, Goldengrass fresh forage, etc) and the suppliers invoice the owners separately. Our syces undertake haying, twice daily, according to owners’ instructions. We believe this system allows freedom of choice to select the preferred forage to suit individual horse’s needs.
Horse Ownership
Members and staff at BTSC are delighted to share information with owners who are new to horse ownership. A horse is a considerable responsibility, both in terms of time and expense, which should not be undertaken lightly and it must be noted that under the Constitution of BTSC, it is deemed the responsibility of the owner to ensure that the horse is exercised daily and its welfare is taken care of to a satisfactory standard. The rules are in place for the benefit of the horses placed into our care.
Safety
All riders must wear an ATSM-approved horse riding helmet, proper riding boots, and a sleeved shirt whilst riding. There is a no smoking policy in the yard. Dogs are not allowed in the yard at any time.
