Pony Club
The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth organization for those interested in ponies and horse riding. The Pony Club has a growing membership worldwide which exceeds 145,000 people. BTSC accepts children to Pony Club from 7 years old
The objectives are:
- to encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding
- to give instruction in riding and horse mastership and to educate members to look after and to take proper care of their animal
- to promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship and loyalty to create strength of character and self-discipline
What We Do
- Pony Club Tests (Standards of Efficiency). These tests are designed to ensure progress and therefore improve your riding ability and knowledge of horse and pony care. Starting with the ‘E’ Test you can progress through the Standards of Efficiency up to the ‘AH’ Test. The progress in the Tests goes from E, D, D+, C , C+, B , H , A, AH
- Progressive Tests: The different levels are at Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum in Riding and Stable Management. These are smaller tests at all levels which may be taken on their own or together with the Standards of Efficiency.
- Pony Club Achievement Badges: These cover a range of basic equestrian and countryside topics and, as each one is passed, the appropriate cloth badge can be sewn onto your Pony Club Sweatshirt. Your Instructor, and your Parents, will be able to help you learn what is required to gain your Achievement Badges, some of the subjects may already be taught in school
Other fun activities include Pony Camps, demonstrations, lectures, DVD’s, visits to other Pony Club branches, gymkhanas
