Catja Van Stegmann

BTSC Freelance Instructor Catja SteggmanCatja has been riding horses since she was 5 years old. Her philosophy is to treat the horse as your ‘partner’.

Catja started competing at the age of 11 years old in Germany and for the next 10 years she competed mainly in show jumping and has been successful in classes up to 1m30. Thereafter, she expanded to Three-Day-Eventing, where she successfully competed up to 1m20. She was a Regional and County champion in jumping and a Reseve Champion in Three-Day-Eventing. After starting her family in the early ‘90’s, Catja then focused on dressage and has gone on to compete in Germany, the UK and Singapore. She has trained her own horse up to Grand Prix level. Catja won the National Dressage Championships for 2 consecutive years on her own horse ‘Lars’. Katja has trained at the Riding Institution Egon von Neindorff in Germany. She has also trained with Brett Parbery (Australian Dressage Champion), Irene Bakels-Noreen (FEI Judge ) and Volker Eubel (Sinagpore National Dressage Coach)

Catja is available for dressage lessons for riders competing at Prelim. level and above.

Amanda Harvey

BTSC Freelance Instructor Amanda HarveyAmanda Harvey is a Canadian freelance dressage coach at The Bukit Timah Saddle Club and has been teaching in Singapore for sixteen years. Her coaching strength is from Preliminary  to Medium level. She enjoys preparing riders for dressage tests or working on riders personal goals whether they be competitive or not.  Over the last thirty years of teaching and riding Amanda has had a lot of experience working for many top riders; prior to moving to Singapore Amanda was a working student for Ashley Holzer who rides for the Canadian Dressage team. Amanda returns to Canada every summer to have clinics and to spend time expanding her teaching skills.

Amanda is available for dressage lessons with riders competing at Preliminary level and above.

 

 

Cynthia Ee – BHSII

BTSC Freelance Instructor Cynthia EeCynthia has been riding & teaching since 1991 and trained under Anna Lamberty Burtell (FBHS) to attain her BHS qualifications. Cynthia has also acquired National Coaching Accreditation Programme (theory) Level 1 & 2; FEI Coaches Level 1 (2007) & completed an FEI recognised course for National, Candidate & International Dressage Judges Course (2008).  Cynthia has been competing since 1991 in Malaysia & Singapore. She has represented Singapore in the following competitions: 2009 Sydney CDI 3 star Dressage competition; 2007 SEA Games Thailand Equestrian Event Dressage Team & Individual; 2007 Dressage International New Delhi CDI 2 star competition; 2005 Asian Equestrian Games 2005, Taipei Regional Games Team competition.  Cynthia teaches all levels in dressage, showjumping and cross country. She loves to help anyone who wants to ride, for leisure or more competitively and her motto is “to build wonderful relationships with our equine friends!”

 

 

Audrey Njoto

BTSC Freelance Instructor Audrey NjotoAudrey has been riding for about 12 years and has competed successfully in both jumping at 1.15m and dressage up to PSG level, winning and placing in competitions in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Germany. She has trained with several top trainers, judges and riders including Volker Eubel of Germany, Barnabas Mandi of Hungary, Per Skarbyek from Denmark, and Erik Naberink of Holland. Audrey now tends to specialise in dressage and she has experience riding Grand Prix horses and has trained movements up to grand prix.

Deeply inspired by the philosophy of her coach, Volker Eubel, she believes that the best system to training horses and riders is that there is NO best system as every horse and rider combination is unique. It is Audrey’s passion to find and understand how to bring out the best in every horse and rider that she works within their own unique way. 

 

 

Mette Lowe

BTSC Freelance Instructor Mette LoweMette Lowe is Danish and has been teaching as a freelance instructor at the Bukit Timah Saddle Club since July 2006. From October 2008 to February 2010, she was a part-time instructor in the riding section of the Polo Club and fills in the BTSC riding school at times also. She teaches dressage lessons, mostly on a one-to-one basis, and her students are beginner/novice riders, both children and adults. She also teaches lunge lessons as she finds “these hugely beneficial to the rider”. Mette has passed the British Horse Society PTT (Preliminary Teaching Test) in November 2010. Other teaching qualifications include an FEI Course for Coaches – Level 1 and the RDA (Riding for the Disabled) grade 1 and 2 – Group Instructor.
